I can’t believe Don watched Ghost Whisperer with me tonight. He stopped watching when Jim jumped into Sam’s body. I’m not sure if he watched because Jim has his memories back and they’re not jumping back and forth between Jim and Sam anymore or if he was just too comfortable to move to another room when it came on.
Tonight was the big night with Hillary Duff. I almost didn’t recognize her at first. I kept thinking she looked familiar then it hit me who she was. Usually we can figure out what’s going on pretty early but this episode had me guessing for quite a while. I figured out what she was doing just before Melanie and Eli did. Don still had to explain to me that the ghost committed suicide because I thought Morgan was the one who packed his parachute and killed him. I guess I’m slipping in my deductive skills.
For those that didn't see the episode, Hillary Duff played Morgan, Eli's neighbor who was being haunted by a ghost that she said she didn't know. Turns out they were close friends and met at a support group for cancer patients. The ghost committed suicide so he could leave her his life insurance to pay for a new, expensive treatment. It turns out she didn't have cancer but was a black widow who met men at the support groups and married them before they died. Morgan really had feelings for this guy and felt so guilty after he died that she donated the insurance money $250,000 to a cancer center in his name. At the end she admitted what she'd done, the ghost forgave her and they watched the lunar eclipse together which was one of the things on his bucket list. After the eclipse Morgan scattered his ashes into the wind and the ghost went into the light.
So, Jim admitted he wants to be a doctor. I thought it was brought up a couple of seasons ago that he wanted to go to medical school but then it was dropped. I really felt sorry for him when he saw his co-workers. It’s a good thing Jim’s got a level head (except for when he jumped into Sam’s body) because anybody else would be going crazy right now but not Jim. He accepts that his life as he knew it is over and he’s got to assume this new identity.
Upcoming Spoilers:
