I found out a while ago you can make some decent friends if you'll just take a risk and make yourself available. I've met some people in the last few years through the internet and some I'm still in contact with even if it's just a "hi how are you doing" type of email.
I recently met someone named Dee through a blogging forum who asked for help and even though I'm still a novice I offered whatever help I could. Through private messages on the board that merged into emails that eventually went to IM's we decided to start a product review blog together. As we were starting that blog she was getting the finishing touches on her own blog and today she opened it up to everyone.
Cocktails With Mom is the result of her hard work and it's a place for women to hang out and talk or as Dee says, Relax, Relate and Release. On her blog you'll be able to read as well as join in on conversations. So, why don't you go on over and join the party. The doors are open and all are welcome. Even though the name is Cocktails With Mom, I don't think the mom thing is a requirement but having fun is.
